Learn to Cook the Mediterranean Diet (Masterclass) – Saturday, 9 November, 2019

November 9, 2019
10.00 - 16.00

Seats in this class are available unless otherwise noted.

There are so many fad diets out there and most people know that diet promoting companies bank on failure. The Mediterranean Diet seems to have stood the test of time and if versions of it are adopted, can lead to sustained healthy weight. The core diet comprises vegetables, legumes, wholegrains, fish and nuts as well as olive oil which replaces other forms of fat. Herbs are used to flavour food rather than salt. Red meat and sweets are considered occasional treats for religious and other celebrations.

We’re constantly told to eat more plants for our own health and that of the planet; by cooking and eating Mediterranean style you’ll do just that with absolutely no sense of deprivation. Jenny cooked for Italians on their boat in the Mediterranean for many years, worked in Barcelona as a restaurant consultant and has also lived in the South of France.
Her passion for this “accidentally healthy” way of eating is contagious.
The menu will include a fabulous selection of mezze, antipasti and tapas-type dishes. You will also prepare a one-pot sea bass, cannellini bean and gremolata show -stopper.  We will finish off with the preparation of an almond and citrus torte. You will enjoy  lunch and a final meal of the food prepared with a glass of wine or non-alcoholic alternative.
