Harborne Food School Welcome to Harborne Food School. We offer cookery classes, professional chef demonstrations and unique food experiences in our beautifully designed cookery school within the Grade II listed Clock Tower building on Harborne High Street, Birmingham. Our facilities are ideal for cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, food focus groups, food related training, private parties, private dining, team building and corporate events.

‘Following a gluten free diet doesn’t mean you can’t be creative in the kitchen! There are plenty of dishes that are safe to eat and many more than can be made gluten-free in a few easy steps’ – Coeliac UK

Chef Tutor Charlotte Pike is an award winning ‘free-from’ baker and cook and leads a hands-on cooking classes exploring innovative gluten free recipes. Charlotte will introduce the session by reviewing foods to avoid, foods that are naturally free from gluten and gluten-free products that may be used to supplement. As with all our courses,  you will produce nutritionally balanced, tasty food to inspire your home cooking.  We tend to incorporate ingredients that do not rely on expensive gluten free products but will also discuss the range of products now available.

Participants booking onto our classes are asked about dietary needs and preferences. So for example, if you are vegetarian as well as gluten free we adapt recipes to reflect this. This class is also suitable for people cooking or caring for  children/family members or friends who are gluten free. We are aware that going ‘gluten free’ or ‘free-from’ is challenging and our aim is to show you how to add diversity into your diet and enjoy cooking and mealtimes as much as all lovers of food.

Refreshments/treats are served on arrival and the session ends with a meal of the food prepared. One glass of wine or cold drink served with the meal.

  • Gluten free chocolate cake.
