Tandoori Cuisine

Tandoori cuisine refers to food prepared in a tandoor over which is traditionally made of clay and is a bell-shaped oven fired with wood or coal to very high temperatures. In this class, you will learn to prepare Punjabi favourites including tandoori chicken, dal makhani and tawa kulcha.
Dal makhani is a popular creamy dish incorporating black lentils and red kidney beans. The 'tawa kulcha' is a stuffed flat bread which is often eaten at breakfast with pickles, fresh butter and yoghurt in rural Punjab. A key aspect of the evening will be preparing the yoghurt and spice marinade for tandoori chicken.
The class will end with a meal of the food prepared and Indian beer, wine or a non-alcoholic alternative.
