Our Thali Thursday cooking classes are ideal for lovers of Indian food and a Friday night Balti who want to learn the basics of Indian cooking.

A tiffin is a special lunchbox used to serve a variety of Indian dishes including a dal, a rice dish (eg cumin rice), one or two vegetable mains, a yoghurt side (raita), chapati and a dessert. In fact you can add as many tiers as you like. You will learn how to use spices such as turmeric, garam masala, cumin and coriander and when to use ground or whole spices to prepare a traditional, vegetarian, Indian meal.

  • Aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower)
  • Channa dal (yellow split pea lentil - demo)
  • Chaat salad
  • Chappati

A glass of wine or beer will be served with a final meal of the food produced.
