Learn to make perfect sponge, cupcakes and loaf cakes.

In this class you will learn the basics of cake baking including

  • how to prepare a cake tin and when to use butter, flour or parchment
  • creaming butter and sugar to create a light, airy texture with or without a mixer
  • creaming yolks and sugar with a hand-held or electronic whisk
  • cooling down
  • basic icing techniques

Sample menu

  • Perfect chocolate cake or Victoria sponge
  • vanilla or flavoured cupcakes
  • Lemon loaf cake

Please bring take-home boxes to take away the cake you bake. As the class is an evening class, please make sure you eat before you arrive as no final meal is included in this session. Prosecco, tea and coffee will be served on arrival.
