It is encouraging to see people moving towards a plant based diet beneficial for both health and the environment. The class isn’t just for vegetarians but we show you how to celebrate and make vegetables the main event rather than a side-show. We take inspiration from our favourite chefs including Ottolenghi, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Jane Noraika. We also share recipes from our favourite food cultures such as Lebanese, Indian, South East Asian, North Africa and Mediterranean. You will be taught how to use a variety of herbs and spices to ‘pimp’ up seasonal veg and we will also provide guidance on where to shop for vegetables used by the diverse communities in Birmingham. The session is led by registered nutritionist Shaleen and trained chef tutor Charlotte Pike who will guide you through selection and chopping techniques. You will prepare a nourishing meal which will be eaten at the end of the session.
