Welcome to Harborne Food School. We offer cookery classes, professional chef demonstrations and unique food experiences in our beautifully designed cookery school within the Grade II listed Clock Tower building on Harborne High Street, Birmingham. Our facilities are ideal for cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, food focus groups, food related training, private parties, private dining, team building and corporate events.

Chef Tutor Sachiko teaches at the best cooking schools in the UK and has also worked as the assistant to the head chef at Umu – a Michelin Star Japanese restaurant in Mayfair. She noticed the rise in interest for ‘Modern Japanese’ cuisine like Katsu curry and gyoza or dumplings and has developed this session plan based on this.You will learn how to prepare Gyoza wrapper (Japanese dumpling skin), fillings (vegetarian or non-veg) and layu dipping oil which is a Japanese chilli oil.

You will be welcomed with refreshments and the session will end with a meal of the food produced and Japanese beer or alternative.Visit to find out more about Sachiko’s work.
