We meet people who love food but have never had to cook a meal in their lives. Circumstances change and all of a sudden they find themselves in a kitchen with ingredients and equipment and no idea of what to do next. Our high tech, way too busy lives mean that flats are being built with no kitchens as we are reliant on ‘Just Eat’ home deliveries. But, cooking is such a pleasurable, life enhancing experience even when you know just one or two simple techniques.
In the class you will learn to
- Chop (simple chopping)
- Use a measuring jug
- Turn on an oven and set temperature
- Understand basic food hygiene principles
- Shop for long/short shelf-life ingredients to manage waste
- Lay a table
- Serve a three course meal!
Charlotte will guide you through these techniques and you’ll surprise yourself by preparing a nourishing three-course meal at the end of the session.
